New Member Spotlight: Stewart Spielman

Stewart Spielman became a member of The American Board of Certification in March 2016. When asked why he sought board certification, Stewart answered "I saw it as an opportunity to independently confirm my business bankruptcy expertise to clients and others in the firm.  In addition, it allows me to more meaningfully compete for significant representations across a broader geographic region."

Stewart is a member in McGlinchey Stafford’s commercial litigation section. He regularly represents companies, institutional lenders, nontraditional financial investors, and equity funds in a variety of complex commercial litigation, workouts and enforcement matters involving agented and syndicated loans, SBA/USDA-guaranteed facilities, and asset-based and/or real estate secured loans.  Stewart also has extensive experience representing wholesale automotive and equipment floor plan financing companies in enforcement proceedings nationwide.

Stewart has been representing clients in bankruptcy proceedings for over 12 years. Those representations have encompassed all aspects of Chapter 11 proceedings, including motions for relief from stay, disputes regarding lease agreements, objections to confirmation of plans, obtaining adequate protection orders, motions to convert, cash collateral orders, negotiating asset sales, and a wide variety of adversary proceedings from fraudulent transfers, ranking disputes, classification of estate assets, and pursuing discharge and dischargeability objections.
